Worship Team Values
Devotion to the truth of the gospel
Promote the truth of Scripture through all aspects of our worship service. God’s Word is the foundation upon which our services are built and the basis of our appeal to the Lord. (Isaiah 40:8)
Give all of the glory to God
We want to “disappear” and allow the greatness of God to shine through. Our trust is in His Message and person, not ourselves as messengers. (Psalm 115:1)
Be Authentic
Open & humble (real) before God and the congregation, worship – “lead by worshiping”, striving for a personal encounter with God. Avoiding pride, pretense and posturing, pursuing reverence, with truth and passion applied. (Psalm 96)
Be Relational
You are a part of a team and need to pray for and care for your team members as well as allow them to minister to you.
Be Purposeful
Don’t do things for Coolness’ sake – Everything (music, lights, sound, drama, decor…) should build an environment of worship.
Celebrate diversity
Through musical styles and creative content. Not for the sake of appeasing demographics, but to demonstrate how the glory of God transcends personal preference.
Model Excellence
Actively avoid shoddiness and lack of preparation. Bring your best to God and do your best before God. (Col. 3:23-24)
Demonstrate an active and growing relationship with Christ
Our Sunday experience is a reflection of our daily walk. Be active in the Word and with accountability and an ongoing pursuit of spiritual growth.
