Ministry Partnership

We do not believe that church membership is necessary for salvation, but we do believe that when a person is savingly joined to Christ they should also seek to be joined to a local expression of his Body here on earth, the church. The church is where they can serve alongside others in a special relationship called ministry partnership. We hope that the following information will help you to see the importance of becoming a ministry partner with us.

By becoming a ministry partner of CF you are saying five things:

1. I acknowledge the saving work of Jesus Christ in my life and submit myself to His Lordship as well as to those He has placed over me in the church (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 13:17).
2. I commit myself to the process of growing more like Jesus (2 Peter 3:18).
3. I willingly desire to identify with this local body through its teaching, worship, ministry of prayer, and being connected to others in a community group (Acts 2:42, 46).
4. I wholeheartedly support this church's commitment to the Great Commission and I desire to share the story of Jesus within my sphere of influence (Matthew 28:18; Acts 1:8).
5. I commit myself to serving this church according to my spiritual gifts and passions, as well as supporting its ministry through a stewardship of my material resources (Romans 12:6-8; Philippians 4:11-19)

We believe that these statements capture the essential marks of someone devoted to the fellowship of this church. This devotion will also be evidenced by:

Protecting the unity of my church

• Acting in love
• Refusing to gossip
• Keeping short accounts by being quick to forgive

Sharing in the responsibility for my church

• Praying for it
• Inviting the unchurched to attend
• Welcoming warmly those who visit

Serving in the ministry of my church

• Discovering my gifts and passions for ministry
• Being equipped to serve
• Developing a servant's heart

Supporting the witness of my church

• Attending faithfully
• Living a godly life
• Giving regularly

Membership Covenant: I confess my faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and it is my sincere desire to serve Him faithfully in the fellowship of this church. By the power of the Holy Spirit I will order my life according to the Scriptures and will endeavor to follow Christ and witness to others so that they may believe. I purpose to promote the Lord's work through this church through the giving of myself and my resources, to preserve the unity of this church and to encourage others to love and good works so that in all things our Lord Jesus may have the preeminence.

Steps to Ministry Partnership:

• Attend worship services for at least three months
• Have an interview with two Elders and give testimony to your faith in Christ
• Attend Focal Point
