A Summary of Our Strategic Plan for 2011-2012

Our Theme: Encourage one another

Our Year Verse: "And let us consider how to stir one another up to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near". - Hebrews 10:24

·          It is our desire as a church to become a more welcoming Community so that we might give ourselves away for the sake of the gospel.

·          To welcome means to receive others gladly; to willingly open our lives to others so that we might give something to them.

·          Opening our lives to others; giving our lives for the Gospel.

·          This will be accomplished as we learn to…

Be Connected: opening ourselves up to one another

·          Learning to do life-on-life together (telling our stories to one another).

·          Involvement in a small group (raising the value of small group leadership).

·          Looking to welcome others and assimilate them into the life of our church.

·          Attending Focal Point.

·          Becoming a Ministry Partner.

·          Learning to grow in Christ together (not just individually).

·          Expanding our Sunday opportunities for Adult Ministry.

·          Learning to have more fun together.

Be Engaged: opening ourselves up to our neighbor and the stranger

·          Learning to care and serve others in our community (relationally engage our neighbor and telling THE STORY) to the end that we bring them to Christ.

·          Welcoming the stranger and alien; the refugee, the immigrant, the minority.

·          Intentionally building relationships with someone of a different ethnicity.

·          Learning to show honor to those who are vulnerable, in need, or on the margins.

·          Learning to be more tolerant of ambiguity- growing in patience and trust of relationships with people different than we are.

·          Learning to learn together by expanding CF Institute.

Be Generous: opening ourselves up to being stewards of God’s resources on behalf of God’s Kingdom

·          Learning to joyously give ourselves and our resources away for the sake of the Gospel (imitate Christ).

·          Learning how to steward our gifts as well as our volunteerism.

·          Learning simplicity and living within our means.

·          Learning how to get rid of and stay out of debt.

·          Learning how to be better stewards of our time.

·          Learning how to steward our environment.
