Children & Baptism
The Bible gives many example of all Believers in Jesus Christ are to be baptized in water. Even Jesus was baptized in the waters of the Jordan River.
John 1:26-34
.
Baptism is symbol of Jesus Christ's Death, Burial, and Resurrection from death to Life. It is an outward picture and expression of the inward change and commitment to follow Jesus. Baptism does not make you a Christian, but it is a declaration of someone who is already a Christian.
At Community Fellowship, we encourage families to consider waiting till their child is in the 3rd Grade before getting baptized. We believe that a Child's decision to follow Christ and be baptized is a significant spiritual milestone in a child's life. We encourage Parents to celebrate your child's baptism like a spiritual birthday for your child. Mark your calendar to repeat each year and celebrate their life in Christ. Consider giving them something to remember this day like a new Bible, a picture or verse to hang on their bedroom wall, jewelry like a necklace or bracelet or anything that will help them remember their decision to follow Christ everyday. Invite family members and friends who have played a key role in your child’s spiritual development to celebrate with you. This is a great way to solidify the significance of this day in your child’s memory and it will encourage them to take the next step spiritually with Christ.
If your child is interesting in getting baptized or you would like more information, please contact
